Gershwin Piano Quartet

The Gershwin Piano Quartet sheds new light on the music of George Gershwin. It features four pianists on four grand pianos, playing, arranging and improvising on some of Gershwin’s most popular songs and orchestral works, such as Rhapsody in Blue“, An American in Paris“ and Summertime“.

The originals are rescored for the unfamiliar combination of four pianos by the members of the quartet themselves and make for a novel and exciting listening and viewing experience.

Great music at 8 am! just saw this post after I watched Oliver sacks’ talk; I should go and see these four dudes pretty soon in Switzerland – they are practically in my backyard.

I am not a purist so improvisations and mix and matching doesn’t bother me as it does some hardcore music lovers; this was a welcome change.
    thanks- Aju !
