I agree that ego has been both a force that drives human beings up as well as down. Choice is ours. But problem is that awareness of operation of ego viz., knowledge does not make us wise. Solution to the problem is 'sublimation of ego' through a spiritual process.

Anyway, this entire setup of universe is much more complex than what we have been able to conceive or even dream of. Nature has it's cosmic laws and they are ruthlessly obeyed. That's why there is order in the in-animate world and constant renewal of everything in the animate world. Cosmic law has always been at work and constantly finds ways and means of bringing sense back to the human beings. But, it's better that we understand it and mend our ways rather than wait for Nature to take corrective action.

Also, it's naive to think that we are alone in the Universe. There are many things that have happened on earth that we have not been able to explain so far. It's only that in few thousand years of the history that we know of, we have not found any credible evidence of the other life forms. But there are limits to our perceptions and this blinkers will remain to the human understanding till nature decides to reveal its true nature to the human kind.

I am able to relate and connect

The insight that you provide is easily available to anybody interrested in science, and though insightful is not absolutely necessary in realizing that we have to do something collectively to change the way in which human beings have been interacting with each other for thousands of years. Fundamentally, I beleive that the collective ego-centric structures of the world have to disappear and that the only way to acheive this is through changing ourselves on a personal level.

Serving our individual ego gives rise to the collective ego which is responsible for all the suffering amongst us. The problem lies within each one of us and is part of our nature. We have to change our fundamental nature and dissolve the ego. We can learn a lot from the way the ants and the bees operate. Our advantage in this way is intelligence. Our awareness of the operation of the ego can stop us from putting our intelligence in the service of the ego. Then, and only then, will we be able to see a change.

Thank you for the opportunity to express my opinion.
