What is Reality?
We almost never see Reality…
What we see is a reflection of it in form of words & concepts, which we then proceed to take for reality…
The world we live in is mostly a mental construct. Words are indicators, not reflections, of reality. People feed on words, live by words, would fall apart without them..

In ‘The Spell of the Sensuous’, David Abram posits that with the development of written language, humans came to live in a world of their own construction, isolated from the basic meanings and interactions of existence and from the reality of the natural world. He’s a philosopher and magician. I found it a deeply impactful read. I strive in my life to go beneath the constructs of words and thought to experience the natural world as it is. As a poet, I paradoxically use words to convey the hidden and unspoken experiences that I have. As an artist I endeavour to combine images and words.
