Words..
Words

Words are like days:
coloring books or pickpockets,
signposts or scratching posts,
fakirs over hot coals.
Certain words must be earned
just as emotions are suffered
before they can be uttered
- clean as a kept promise.
Words as witnesses
testifying their truths
squalid or rarefied
inevitable, irrefutable.
But, words must not carry
more than they can
it’s not good for their backs
or their reputations.
For, whether they dance alone
or with an invisible partner,
every word is a cosmos
dissolving the inarticulate

Hi,
This is amazingly true. What words written about WORDS.. WOW. And like you rightly mentioned, the last two lines are amazing. But in todays world, when words are carelessly chosen, seemleslly spoken, and used with no sensitivity, i think it creates a new sense of trauma…
But everything said, Words are effective mode of communication. Only when one person knows each other totally, silence can speak more then words.
I love this thing that you shared with me. WOuld love to connect wiht Yahia Lababidi…
Thank you once again.
love

I discover this poem, and I agree with what is said.
I do have one regret.. not about this, but in general.
Poetry does not exist anymore in our daily life, and if one does not make the effort to find it, to read it, to whisper it, to shout it, … in which world will live and go all poets ?
Sensitivity, clam and peace, happiness and joy seem to be from another world.. far away, so far away, too far away.
Thank you for sharing this soft slice of life with us.
